Meet The Team

Lauren (Lucia) Rehorst / BS, LMT, LAc, MSOM

Hello and Welcome!
My first interests in natural health came from my mother (a Registered Nurse), my aunt (a Licensed Massage Therapist), and most importantly from my years as a Certified Veterinary Technician at a holistic animal hospital where we successfully treated scores of beloved pets with Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture.

I started this practice in 2011 with the motivation of helping people have an easier time at life.  Isn't that what its all about?  I'm honored that our therapists and I are able to effect areas of health that aren't well-addressed in the mainstream medical model.  We can help you course-correct minor to medium health issues before they become something more substantial, needing the intervention of a medical doctor.

And if you're already under the supervision of an expert medical team, our complimentary treatment modalities play a synergistically supportive role in keeping you functioning opitimally.

What Lauren does for fun:
-  Cooking and enjoying food
-  Bodybuilding
- Spending quality outdoor time with her family: husband Jon, dogs Shadow and Archie, and horse Ranger
-  Continuing to learn about how to better help you!

MacKenzie Mitsche / LMT

MacKenzie (we call her Mac!) graduated from Lakeside School of Massage Therapy in 2012 with a strong interest in sports massage and continued to develop her Trigger Point, Deep Tissue, and Prenatal massage techniques. Practicing in in both medical and spa settings, Mac found that her passion and joy for Massage Therapy comes from helping others feel better. She loves how beneficial therapeutic massage can be for every person and wants to continue learning more about how to help others dealing with chronic pain or every day aches and pains.

"I feel massage is always helpful, and it's my professional goal to customize each session based on their personal needs. It's important to me that every person leaves feeling better and knows how beneficial massage can be."

Her inspiration comes from her mother, Shannon, who showed her proven medical massage techniques and strategies that have been most beneficial.

What Mac does for Fun!

Concerts, musicals, and ballets

Lara Patterson / LAc

"Hello! I’m Lara Patterson. I studied Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine at the Midwest College of Oriental Medicine in Racine (where Lauren Rehorst and I met and worked together). I am excited to join the team at Live Oak Health, serving to help you to realize your health goals and improve your quality of life. I look forward to meeting you!

In addition to practicing acupuncture, I teach middle school Health, and enjoy working with patients interested in optimal nutrition. The body’s ability to heal itself is truly amazing, especially with gentle assistance from acupuncture and body work to help it rebalance. I find it especially gratifying to be able to help athletes return to their sports and assist people in reducing their pain and stress."

Lara has lived in Racine for eight years, after having lived in the Madison area for 14. She enjoys teaching skiing and snowboarding in the winter, and working and playing outside in the summers, all with her husband Paul and 4 adult children.

Jon Rehorst - Office Handiest Man, Treatment Guinea Pig

You might see Lauren's husband Jon around the office.  Jon is able to work his real job remotely, allowing him to spend extra time with his wife and help where needed to keep our clinic running smoothly.  Thank you, honey!
