ACUPUNCTURE

What is Acupuncture?

Some patients joke about feeling like a pincushion, but there are never this many needles AND they're much much thinner! Less than the width of a cat's whisker, the filiform acupuncture needles stimulate your nervous system, effectively "recalibrating" the communication between your brain and your body, to balance and regulate your bown intelligent internal healing processes.

Acupuncture is an integral part of East Asian medicine with a 5000-year history. It effectively helps with conditions such as:

insomnia

anxiety & stress

all seasons of a woman's life: irregular or painful periods, fertility, peri, and post-menopause

digestive disorders

constipation/diarrhea, skin issues

glaucoma and vision support

back and joint pain

headaches

addiction care

surgical recovery

cancer support

vertigo, tinnitus

If you're wondering if acupuncture can help with your health concerns....the answer is YES! This is the beauty of Chinese Medicine. There is always hope and there are endless approaches to any problem.

What happens in the acupuncture treatment and how much is it? What should I wear to my session? What is tipping etiquette for acupuncture? Do you take my insurance? Contact Us

● The initial consultation for new patients is an involved process, typically about 2 hours! Lauren or Lara will do a detailed examination of your health history and current symptoms and find out whats going on inside by examining your tongue and pulse. This leads to your Chinese Medical diagnosis and the definition of your treatment plan. You'll receive the first treatment, including needling a combination of specific acupuncture points ==> your individualized “treatment formula."

● Depending on your individual needs, this session may or may not include adjunct therapies such as far-infrared heat lamp, essential oils, cupping therapy, massage, GuaSha, nutritional, guidance, movement homework, or herbal prescription recommendations.

● This initial appointment is $150.

● Follow-up sessions last 1 hour and include a quick check-in of your progress followed by your treatment. Acupuncture works best when we can gain some momentum. It is for this reason that I recommend at least 2 sessions/week in the beginning.

● These sessions are $65.

● 95% of the points I use can be reached when you are fully clothed. This is made easier with either loose-fitting shorts and t-shirt or a regular bra and stretchy tights. If for some reason, you would need to remove any clothing, you will be modestly draped and kept warm.

● You generally would not tip your acupuncturist. Your good results are enough for me!

● Most HSA (Healthcare Savings Account) cards are accepted.

We are an approved provider for UNITED HEALTHCARE, UMR, Anthem/BCBS, OPTUM, IRIS, and the VA.

● Please call ahead if you'd like to use your insurance. We must do a confirmation of benefits call to UHC to find out what your coverage includes.

● If you have a different insurance, please reach out to us as we can help you fill out paperwork for out of network benefits.
